وقال الصعب اليوم الاثنين - إن هناك تنسيقا مستمرا بين علماء الفلك في السعودية والمراصد العالمية لمتابعة ومراقبة تحركات هذا المذنب ومن المتوقع أن يعبر وينطلق مرة أخرى بسلام، مشيرا إلى أن الشائعات بحدوث كوارث المصاحبة لظهوره ليس لها أساس علمي
وأكد أن كتلة هذا المذنب لا تؤهله لأن يهدد العالم بكوارث وانهيارات لأنه لا يوجد قوة تجاذب مع الأرض، موضحا أنه من خلال المتابعة والمراقبة بدأت هناك علامات على تلاشي هذا المذنب إما بالاختراق أو التفتيت وهناك شيء من التغير وهذا يشير إلى أنه ليس هناك أي خطورة مثلما تردده بعض المواقع الإلكترونية
يذكر أن مذنب هالي آيلين تم اكتشافه قبل سنة وشهر من قبل عالم روسي اسمه آيلين، الذى أطلق اسمه على المذنب
وكانت مواقع إلكترونية قد رددت مؤخرا أن المذنب سيظهر للعين المجردة قريبا (المذنب يظهر كل 10 آلاف سنة تقريبا)، وهذا يفسر كثرة الزلازل والبراكين، وسيسبب كسوفا للشمس لمدة 3 أيام على الأقل وارتفاع في درجة الحرارة، كما سيتسبب في إغراق عدد من الدول التي تطل على المحيط الهادي
