تدور أحداث المسلسل حول عز شديد عز رجل فى الخامسة والثلاثين من عمره يعمل مذيعا بإحدى القنوات الفضائية، ومحبوب ممن يعملون معه فى القناة، وخصوصا دانا التى تعمل معده لبرنامجه الصلح خير ومذيعه للنشرة الإخبارية وتشعر أنه رجل مختلف وحازم وله شخصيه مستقلة غريبة، وكانت تتمنى الارتباط به قبل زواجه من أميره عبود البرنس جارته التى كان يحبها منذ الطفولة
وتبدأ أحداث المسلسل مع أحداث ثورة 25 يناير ومتابعة عز للأحداث من خلال برنامجه، وفجأة تتدهور حالة الجد الصحية مع اقتراب تسليم السلطة، ويصرح الجد إلى عز يوم 11 فبراير بأنه وضع له ميراثه فى صندوق خشبى وأخفاه فى مكان غير معلوم، ولكنه قرر الإفصاح عن مكانه حتى يستطيع مقابله ربه، وقبل إفصاح الجد عن مكان الصندوق الذى به الكنز تخرج روحه مع إذاعة خطاب عمر سليمان الخاص بتنحى مبارك عن الحكم وتسليم السلطة مؤقتا للمجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة، ويبحث عز عن الصندوق الذى بداخله الكنز فى كل مكان ويلجأ إلى دجال لتحضير روح الجد الذى يرشده عن مكان الصندوق الموجود بمكان سرى داخل حجرة الأجداد وهى حجرة تضم شجرة العائلة على مر العصور بدايه من عصر الفراعنه إلى وقتنا الحالى
