أكد الفنان المصري هاني شاكر أن شعوره بالمسئولية تجاه جمهوره لن يجعله يعتزل الغناء، وذلك على الرغم من حزنه على وفاة ابنته دينا، مشيراً إلى أن عشاقه طالبوه بعدم الاعتزال أثناء تقديم العزاء له
وأشار أثناء حديثه لبرنامج نصف الحقيقة المذاع على فضائية cbc إلى أن وفاة ابنته جعله يشعر بعدم القدرة على الغناء وليس عدم الإرادة، لافتاً إلى أن غنائه أثناء مرض ابنته كان قليلًا، حيث أنه لم يسجل سوى شريط واحد وكانت صحة ابنته جيدة وقتها، بالإضافة إلى حفلة أحياها في الأوبرا بناءً على رغبة ابنته الراحلة التي أصرت على حضورها معه
وقال شاكر: لم أفقد الأمل في قدرة الله سبحانه وتعالى على شفاء ابنتي حتى قبل ساعات من وفاتها، وكنت أنا وبعض الأصدقاء نصلي المغرب والعشاء في المستشفى، ونقوم بعمل حضرة يومياً ندعون الله فيها أن يمنح ابنتي الشفاء
وأعرب شاكر عن امتنانه للفنان نادر أبو الليف، خاصة وأنه وقف بجانبه في عزاء ابنته ولم يكن بينهما أي علاقة، وقال: ربنا يكرمه، أنا عمري ما رأيته ولا يوجد بيننا صداقة، لكني احترمته جداً، لأنه كان بجاني في المسجد، وخلال الجنازة والدفن، وكذلك في العزاء ليلاً، وأيضاً في ثاني يوم للعزاء
وأوضح هاني شاكر أن أغنية صعب علي كتبها وغناها لابنته، وأنها تصف الحالة التي عاشها معها خلال فترة العلاج، وأنه من المستحيل أن يسمعها مرة ثانية، لافتاً إلى أنه كان يأخذ رأي أسرته في كل أعماله، خاصة وأن تذوقهم للفن جيد خاصة ابنته الراحلة دينا
وأضاف: رحيل ابنتي غير أشياء كثيرة لدي، لأن الدنيا فانية، والناس يضيعون حياتهم في التفاهات والجري وراء الشهوات، معتبراً أن تعزية كل الناس له جعلته يعرف قدر حبه عند الناس
