فى أشارة لنا سابقآ ونقلآ عن جريدة الفجر بخصوص شيك تسلمه مبارك من الشيخ زايد للدخول فى حرب الكويت وقالت جريدة الفجر ان الشيك بأسم مبارك وان مبارك أخذه ووضعه فى حسابه فى نيويولاك وذكرت رقم حسابه
ولكن أصدر البنك المركزى يوم الاثنين 25 يوليو 2011 بيان رسمى يأكد فيه ان
"البنك الأهلي المصري قام بتحصيل الشيك الوارد للبنك (الأهلي) بتاريخ 25 أغسطس سنة 1990 بقيمة 120 مليون دولار أمريكي وصادر لأمر الرئيس السابق حسني مبارك، عن طريق مراسلة (بنك أوف أمريكا) بتاريخ 31 أغسطس سنة 1990 وتم إضافة قيمة الشيك لحساب البنك المركزي المصري بذات التاريخ (31 أغسطس 1990)، وأصبحت الأموال ملكا للبنك المركزي لصالح الدولة وأصبحت جزءا من احتياطيات مصر من النقد الأجنبي وان البنكما زال محتفظا بتلك الأموال حتى الاثنين 25 يوليو 2011 بالإضافة إلى العوائد المستحقة منذ تحصيل الشيك''
