حذرت السفارة الأمريكية بالقاهرةمواطنيها من السفر إلى منطقة السيناء وبالتحديد بالقرب من الحدود المشتركة بين مصر وإسرائيلوالمناطق المحيطة بهاوذلك بعد زعزعة الاستقرار فى هذه المناطق مؤخرًابمقتل 6 مصريين و8 إسرائيليين آخرين فى حوادث مختلفة
وقالت السفارة فى بيان لهاحصل اليوم السابع على نسخة منههناك تهديد حقيقى فى منطقة الحدود الواقعة بين مصر وإسرائيلفنحن نذكر مواطنينا إلى توخى الحذر واتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لضمان سلامتهم وأمنهم إذا فكروا فى السفر لهذه المنطقةمضيفا أنه صدرت تعليمات لأفراد البعثة الأمريكية بإخطار مكتب الأمن الإقليمى إذا رغب أى منهم السفر لهذه المنطقة
أضاف البيان تذكر السفارة المواطنين الأمريكيين بمراجعة خططها الأمنية الشخصيةوأن يبقوا فى حالة تأهب فى جميع الأوقات أثناء وجودهم بمصروينبغى على مواطنى الولايات المتحدة أن يسافروا بانتظام وبحذرويمكنهم الاطلاع على المعلومات الخاصة بمصروالتنبيهات المحددة
