صدر القرار بعد جلسات موسعة للمسئولين فى محافظة البحيرة وقرروا انه ليس من الممكن اقامة هذا المولد بعد التغيرات التى حدثت بعد ثورة 25 يناير وقد رفعوا تلك التوصية الى المجلس العسكرى الذى صدق عليها وتم ابلاغ السفارة الاسرائيلية بذلك حتى لا تقوم اسرائيل بإرسال السياح اليهود مثل كل عام
كان مولد ابو حصيرة يشهد رفضاً كبيراً من قطاع عريض من المصريين والقوى السياسية وكانت بعض القوى قد دعت الى عمل دروع بشرية لمنع اليهود من الوصول للقبر واقامة طقوسهم على ارض مصر إلى أن صدر هذا القرار
