اكد الفنان شريف منير عن حزنة واستيائة الشديد لعدم مشاركته في ثورة 25 يناير من نزولة الى التحرير موكدا انه انخدع بخطاب الرئيس المصري السابق محمد حسني مبارك، الذي قال فيه إنه سيموت على أرض مصر، ورفض في الوقت نفسه إهانته، كما رفض فكرة القوائم السوداء
شريف منير قال في مقابلة مع برنامج كش ملك على قناة الحياة الفضائية إنه يرفض إهانة الرئيس السابق حسني مبارك
أما موقفه من الثورة، فقال إنه لم يفهم ماذا يحدث في البداية، كما تأثر بخطاب الرئيس مثل كل الناس، لكن بعد فترة فهم الأمر، وندم على عدم مشاركته في المظاهرات والنزول إلى ميدان التحرير
وانتقد الفنان المصري ما يسمي بـالقوائم السوداء لأنها تقوم على التخوين، متسائلاً عن هوية واضعي هذه القوائم، وبأي حق وضعوها، مشيراً في الوقت نفسه إلى أنه لم يتم وضع اسمه في قائمة سوداء أو بيضاء
