أكد الفنان هاني شاكر أن تسجيل القرآن الكريم بصوته ورد في ذهنه عقب وفاة ابنته دينا ولكنه لم يأخذ قراراً نهائياً حتى الآن، مرجعاً ذلك إلى رغبته في أن يكون العمل خالصاً لوجه الله
وعن حقيقة نيّته الاعتزال، قال إن فكرة الاعتزال كانت مسيطرة عليه أيام مرض دينا، ولكنها قطعت عليه تفكيره في هذا الأمر، فقد كانت وصيتها الأخيرة، بعد الحفاظ على ابنيها مجدي ومليكة، وتربيتهما تربية صالحة أن يظل يغني طيلة العمر ومهما حدث
وأضاف هاني شاكر في تصريحات لمجلة لها-: دينا توسلت إليّ ألا أدفن نفسي في أحزان لا تجدي، وأن أقدم فناً راقياً للناس لكي أسعدهم وأخرجهم به من أحزانهم وهمومهم
وأشار إلى أنه ومنذ وفاة ابنته، أصبح يواظب على أداء الصلوات في مواعيدها، ويقرأ القرآن الكريم بانتظام، وجعل لنفسه ورداً يومياً من كتاب الله يقرأه ويتدبّر معانيه
جدير بالذكر أن وجود حفيدي هاني شاكر مجدي ومليكة داخل المنزل كان له تأثير كبير في تخفيف أحزان المطرب وزوجته نهلة، اللذان يعملان على تربية الطفلين تربية صالحة، لكي يشعرا بأنهما نفذا وصية ابنتهما
